24th SRRNet Conference on Social Responsibility and Sustainability
For our 24th Conference we will go to Romania and the unofficial capital of Transylvania – Cluj-Napoca. Join us there in September 2026. Here is the conference website: https://tbs.ubbcluj.ro/srrnet/index.html
We are happy to welcome Pascal Fesneau, Honorary Consul of France in Cluj-Napoca, as a keynote speaker at our upcoming conference.
With a strong background at the intersection of international relations and business, Pascal brings a valuable perspective on how global dynamics shape organizational priorities and responsibilities. His experience offers relevant insights for both researchers and practitioners interested in the evolving role of CSR in today’s world.
His keynote, “The Three Disruptive Events: Geopolitical, Technological and Climate Influence on CSR Policies”, will be part of the event agenda.
We look forward to welcoming you to join the conversation.
As we celebrate David‘s birthday, it is appropriate to reflect on the background of the Social Responsibility Journal (SRJ). This image shows the very first issue of the Journal. The journal was founded by SRRNet after David organized the very first conference in the field. Originally published directly by SRRNet before Emerald Publishing requested to manage its publication, it was the first academic journal in the field and has since grown to be the leading journal in its category.
N.B. The Website address visible on the cover of the journal in the picture above has been changed to the current address: WWW.SRRNet.org
And the video shows a birthday party organised by the hosting university, UNEMI, in Quito, Ecuador, where we held our 21st conference in 2024. It was indeed a memorable moment. The video of course features another person: Prof Mariana Lima Bandeira, who is one of the editors of SRJ and who organised this memorable event. Our conferences are highly academic and provide excellent opportunities for international collaborations but also full of enjoyment. This year we are excited to hold our conference in Cluj Napoca, Romania. As always we are receiving submissions from a wide variety of disciplines and from very interesting parts of the world.
Birthday celebration for David during our conference in 2024 in Quito, Equador
Throughout the years, the SRRNet conferences have created a wonderful tool for meeting like-minded people from everywhere. Our conferences are really global! Thanks to the leadership, commitment, and contributions of our members from around the world, SRRNet has led the field of CSR and Sustainability for many years. SRJ is of course the first official journal of SRRNet. the second being Technological Sustainability (TechS) which covers the different areas of Engineering and Technology. Currently, the journal is indexed in the most significant global abstracts and is supported by David as the Editor-in-Chief, 16 editors, and a long list of devoted EAB members of SRRNet. Due to the high volume of papers received, the selection process becomes more and more rigorous every year.
In this video Dr Miriam Green talks about her experience with the Network and with the SRRNet conferences (recorded in 2023)
The Network is full of initiatives and new ideas as David has always been throughout his life. Soon there will be new arrangements for publications. Check our news and activities regularly.

Although when Brundtland reported they talked about sustainable development and the three pillars, but now things have changed and sustainability has become the central focus of activity. Does this mean that the three pillars are still relevant and are they still equal? Or do we need a different approach?
This is one of the topics we will be discussing at our 24th conference in September in Romania. Come and join us and participate in this vital discussion. Make your contribution and submit your paper to : davideacrowther@aol.com
